Night-Time Herbal Infusion for Sleep, Anxiety, and to De-Stress

Night-Time Herbal Infusion

We love being able to make a night time herbal infusion that helps the body to de-stress, relax and go to sleep. This particular mix is a mixture I put together for my own kids. We go through waves of consistently having a cup of this tea before bed. It's fun to hear the kids ask for this tea when I fall out of doing this nightly routine. Not only do they love the tea but they love the consistency of such a routine and love being given something special before they go to bed. It's especially cozy to drink a tea like this before bed during the colder months. This mild-tasting herbal tea tastes wonderful and is soothing to all systems in the body.

To make this calming tea, use equal parts of each of the following herbs:

Catnip
Chamomile
Hops Flowers
Lemon Balm
Oatstraw
Passionflower

All of these herbs help to calm the nerves and are perfect as a mild, relaxing sleep aid. But because they're all calming herbs, they can be used for more than just helping you fall asleep. All of these herbs also help alleviate stomach or intestinal cramps, tension, irritability, reduce inflammation and they're even known to help alleviate ADHD or seizure symptoms.

How to Make the Tea:

Mix together the herbs in a bowl. Use one teaspoon of the mix for every cup of boiled water. Steep for 10-20 minutes. Strain. Stir in a dab of raw honey. Drink 1-2 cups in the evening.

You can purchase equal amounts of each of the dried herbs then mix them together and store in an airtight container for up to a year. Then use as needed to add a calming cup of tea to your nightly routine.

Purchasing Herbs / Seeds:

These herbs can be purchased in their dry form from most local health stores or from online herbal stores such as StarWest Botanicals, Mountain Rose Herbs, or San Francisco Herbs.

If you'd like to grow these herbs yourself, the seeds can be purchased from StrictlyMedicinalSeeds.com.

As always, I hope this information will be a blessing to you and your family,
